Knip 09-2007-12 jeans

English Nederlands

I just finished the jeans for DD and she is very happy with them. And in the end, I'm happy with the result. In one of the comments Laura asked me why I didn't like making jeans. And that mainly has to do with the fabric and the thickness of layers. I don't often break needles, but this pair has cost me one extra jeans needle and one topstitch needle. But I must say, this is the first jeans I've sewn since I have my Bernina sewing machine, and it was not as bad as I feared.
For all topstitching I used Güterman upholstery thread (grey bobbin) and topstitch needle. Only for the buttonholes and the tiny zigzag on the belt loops I used normal sewing tread of the same color number. The thick thread always gives me trouble there. The buttonholes I sewed twice.
I'll write a complete review for PR tonight or tomorrow. More pictures you can find in the album when you click one of the pictures in this post.

  10. Outstanding job! I always have to sew very slowly when I'm topstitching with buttonhole thread; my new machine tends to jam when fed with thick threads too.
