Top and skirt

English Nederlands

The result of two weeks: a BWOF top and Knip mode skirt. Not a lot of work, but all I could do. Review of the skirt is here on PR, the review for the top must wait till later.
The fabric market in The Hague was a huge disappointment to me. Limited amount of vendors, and limited choice of fabrics. Many vendors with the same type of fabrics and quality was very average to low. Wish I bought more on the fabric market in Leiden in February. Bought no fabric at all on the market.
In a regular shop in The Hague I bought beautiful dark red linen/viscose for the Knip dress. NancyK wrote that she ordered the Knip issue because of this dress too. Nancy, what color are you planning?
Though I can see that the suit would be very different in a more casual fabric (as suggested in the comments), I am still thinking about that idea.

  1. I like how different this skirt is. Knip seem to have some interesting patterns. Like your top too - Burda by the looks?

  3. That's a great skirt - interesting pleat detail. I see that you did do the shirring at the shoudlers on the top. Did you lengthen the placket? It looks longer to me than the one on my top, but maybe it's just me and I tend to shorten things up.

  6. The Botega Veneta dress, it depends on how much yardage it takes. By the way what is the equivalent of the word yardage in metric? I have 3 yards of a Cavalli cotton voile print in browns and olive on an ivory background. I just got shoes that would work really well. But something tells me it might not be enough for that dress. If not I will probably look for a gray silk crepe de chine in a solid. One of the dresses they are showing looks like a georgette, but they also show it without a lining I think and that certainly won't work for me! Of course, I can line the dress. How much does it take?

  7. Sigrid, because the tissues are not bad in the pictures. The shirt is a beautiful print. Greetings. Paco

  10. Love that wrap skirt. That whole outfit is just fabulous on you.
And, that B-V shirtdress has been in my lookbook and on my radar for a long time. So, I want to know, how do I go about getting a Knip Mode?
I don't think I've ever even seen one.
