Thank you for all the nice comments on my skirt and top. The review of the top is on PR now, and here are a couple of answers to questions:
For NancyK:
The top is BWOF no. 109 from January 2007 (but you already know that, you were writing your comment about the same time I updated the review I think).
The Knip Veneta dress is for 3.60 meters of fabric, which is 3.9 yards. Though your fabric sounds lovely by the description of it, it will not be sufficient, but you already guessed that.
As to conversion from yards to meters, there are several conversion charts on the internet. This is one I found.
Last question from Nancy on custom pattern for bra's: I made mine in workshops that I followed here locally.
For Marji: a good source is this site, and this is the search result for the magazines. I could buy you one, but it would not be cheaper, this site charges exactly the same price as I pay in the shop. Be aware that shipping charges are high!
For Summerset: no I didn't lengthen the placket. But it's rather long.
That's it for now. Probably I will post less regularly for some time. I have serious problems with my shoulder and right arm, and I must be less at the computer. Doctor's orders as from today. And work prevails and makes sure that there's money in the pocket to buy fabrics, so I'll do my best (but it's going to be difficult!)
Sigrid, take the time to get better. Even if you have to post less we'll still be loyal to your blog.
ReplyDeleteThe computer gives me problems with my shoulder too if I am not careful.
ReplyDeleteI have a large calcium deposit that gives me tendonitus if I am not careful. I found that changing my working position is very important and even then if I do too many repetitive movements I am sore. Ice helps and I did physical therapy.
Hope yours responds to rest and treatment. Feel better.
So sorry to hear about your shoulder. Computers can really wreck havoc on our bodies. You may have to consider one of those voice activated programs that types what you say!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your shoulder and arm. Hope the rest cures it quickly. Take care!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your arm and shoulder. For some time I had some problems with my sight and the doctor's advice was to spend less hours in front of the computer (which is impossible because of my job), so I had to spend less time blogging and reading blogs in the evening at home (not to mention sewing and knitting! That was the worst part!). I know how frustrating that is but if your health is involved you should do what the doctor says. I wish you a quick recovery!
ReplyDeleteHeal up well, Sigrid! There's plenty of wonderful posts here to keep us busy while you are taking care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteMay you soon recover! I guess most of us have trouble every now and then - hopefully your's will leave again. :-)
ReplyDeleteTake care Sigrid-
ReplyDeleteI just found your origami blouse. I saw your inspiration photo (on PR??) and was so intrigued by it. I figured out how to do it the complicated origami way - yours is so much simpler- Duh me!
Wishing you a quick recovery! :)
ReplyDeleteTake Care.
I am so sorry to hear you have a problem with your shoulder that will slow down your blogging. I love to see your work on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteYou did not mention that the doctor asked you to stop sewing, so I hope you can continue with that.
As Lindsey said, we'll be here when you can come back.
Health comes first!
We certainly understand that you need to spend less time at the computer, and I hope that it helps with your shoulder/arm issues. Thanks for letting us know, I'm sending good vibes your way!
ReplyDeleteDear Sigrid, I like your blog, it´s beautiful and your works are very nice, I speek litle English only but I go to watch your always.
