Blog vacation

This is the jacket I’ve sewn last week. It’s from BurdaStyle’s February issue.  A full review of it can be found on Pattern Review.

It’s also the last post on this blog for a (little?) while. After almost 6 year of blogging I find it difficult to write something new. Í don’t think it’s interesting to read about the way I construct a jacket for the third, fourth.. time, see yet another bra or t-shirt. Perhaps it’s winter-blues and am I in need of some sunshine and higher temperatures. We’ll see.

Edited to add: Thank you for all your kind words. I’ll be back. Just need a break.

    I agree with Kelly's Korner. While I appreciate the construction details too, just seeing your finished projects is inspiration! Thank you, Sigrid. (I think most of us in the northern hemisphere could use some sunlight now too--it's been a long winter).

    I do understand the need to take a break, but I do hope you pop in with a picture or a note every now and then!

    I hope you come back soon. It's not necessary to post all the construction details or strive for "something new". Just photos of what you've made. There aren't enough of us "mature" sewing bloggers out there. I like to see what my peers (or at least closer to my age) are making.

    BTW, you've inspired me to try to get to Amsterdam in the next year or so. Maybe next spring during tulip season. (Mainly so I can visit that shop you've posted about several times with the lingerie fabric.) :)

    Beautiful jacket, I love the wider neckline and the solid piping trim! As for blogging, you have to listen to your heart. I just hope that it's "See you soon" and not "Goodbye". You have an amazing talent seeing your work raises the bar, keeping the rest of us striving to reach that level someday. Thanks for sharing so generously of yourself.

    Wow, that jacket fits you superbly. I esp love the back. Sigrid, your how-to posts are great but I keep track of you for the beauty of your garments and the willingness you have to try new things. I do hope you'll just post finished garments as you see fit because otherwise, I'll miss seeing you! ~Mary Beth

    Oh my goodness. I follow your blog all the time and you inspired me to try making my own bras. I use all the information on your blog all the time. Now I feel really guilty because I don't always comment and maybe lack of feedback has been a factor in deciding to take a break. Whatever you decide, thank you for all your generously shared information in the past. Please don't stay away too long.

    Beautiful jacket! I will miss you. For me, I don't need to see long posts, I just love to see what people have made - such as this beautiful jacket. Fits beautifully and the edging is perfect.

    Yes, please don't underestimate the joy your readers get from just seeing what you make! I agree that you don't need to repeat yourself in terms of process, but we still like to see the end result!
