Matching plaids?

I know I’m a very matchy-matchy type and that’s not everyones preference. Perfectly alright with me, but this jacket in October Knip Mode hurts my eyes. Couldn’t they at least have tried to match the left and right front?

Despite the aweful fabric placement, I like the style of the jacket and there are more patterns I like.

  1. Aan de mouwen te zien hebben ze het wel geprobeerd maar is het gewoon niet gelukt!

  2. Eek. I like to think that's more about the way it's buttoned (or somehow held closed) since the bottom hem seems longer on one side. But still, a bad oversight.

  3. Bad, bad. That's not about being matchy matchy but rather about good sewing. A good jacket has the sleeve match across too. I agree, it hurts the eyes.

  5. My thought exactly! I searched the picture to find out what could have gone wrong, but I think it is indeed just mis-matching. And nothing else. It's not the first time...

  6. That does bother the eye a little bit. It does look like a nice fabric.

  7. I agree, I am generally not obsessive about anything but checks just need to match!

  8. At least if they weren't going to match the plaid, they could have been off by a larger amount so it didn't look wrong!

That is awful, it looks so off, and so do the sleeves - they didn't even try there.

  9. ha! I just got this issue and totally didn't notice the unmatched plaids at all! But now that you've pointed it out, I don't think I could ever NOT see it again.

I thought this issue was a bit boring - lots of features they've already done before (like the 3 leather pieces and sew vs knit). I've got my rundown going live on FehrTrade.com tomorrow...

  10. And the sleeves should have been cut to continue the plaid across the body!

  11. Although the plaid matching is awful, I do really like the pattern and the fabric. I'd wear that in a heartbeat (properly constructed, of course :)
