A little note

After a very stressful year cumulating in a weekend in September I decided to stop blogging, and made the announcement to do so. I was overwhelmed and very, very touched by all comments on the fact that I was leaving blogosphere. Simply never knew that so many of you enjoyed reading my blog. Thank you for that.

What I didn’t realize at the time, was how much I would be missing blogging. Not the actual writing a post, but the talking about sewing. As I’ve written more than once, there is no one sewing in my circle of family or friends. So who to share the joy or frustration on sewing projects with? Who to tell about the beautiful patterns I found in a Patrones issue, new fabrics acquiered, plans I’m making etcetera.

I thought the missing feeling would pass, but no. There is an itch to go back to talking on sewing on my blog to share the experiences. Won’t bother you again with stopping or stress messages. I’ll be posting again, regularly if I have time and feel like it, not so often if I’m not in the mood or not sewing.

To start with a very inspiring blouse from Patrones 284. It’s a plus size pattern so I’ll have to find another pattern to work with (really don’t think the model is plus size though). It’s not my next project, but I love it.

That's what I do. If I can blog and have something to blog about I do, if not then I don't. No stress :) and I love reading other sewing blogs.

  12. I'm sooooo glad that you are back! I think anyone that blogs with any regularity hits a wall from time to time and we need to step back from our blogs for a minute. But the camardarie, the ability to share something I love with like-minded others and to read others thoughts on the matter keep me blogging. As I said before I'm glad you're back and blog whenever the mood strikes you. I will be here to read about it because I love what you make and learning about your process!

  28. I understand. I publish a blog on weaving and from time to time have thought about not doing it, but realized the blogging actually has more value for me than the readers and besides, I really do like to write. So, like you, guess I'm hooked!

  29. Yippee!! Just even show and tell is fun. You have done your share of tutorials so don't feel guilty for not having time for those :)

  34. I actually had been thinking about you lately...wondering how you were getting on, because I also find blogging very time consuming but I don't think I could give it up, as I also don't have any friends nearby that sew. I hope you find a way to make it work for you this time, as we love seeing what you sew.

  38. Whatever works for you! Even though I've "seen" you in other places over the past 7 weeks it's nice to see you here. It's the enthusiasm for sharing a project that makes it special.

  39. So glad you are back! I have to admit that I would visit your blog once a day to see if you had had a change of heart. I am glad you did. Welcome back and I am happy.

  40. Love the jacket and you already know that I'm thrilled that you're back.
Every time I go down my blog bookmarks I couldn't bring myself to delete yours. Obviously there was a good reason for it! Welcome back.
I keep waiting for Patrones 284 to show up on Stoff art. Thats a very pretty blouse. You're right you'll have to use another pattern as a base. The Patrones plus sized are not like Burda, they take a big jump from the last regular size to the first plus, as I'm sure you've realized.
