Inspiration

English Nederlands

Above are two pictures from the May issue of Knip mode. I'm not a great Knip-fan, but I really like how they presented the pattern. 1 picture from the catwalk, and 4 with fabric drawings to give an impression of different looks. There's also a sporty skirt presented this way. From the above I would like to make the first suit.
But... when could I wear that, it doesn't fit my lifestyle. Something to dream about. Perhaps I could make a dress like the second, more opportunities to wear that I guess.

For now I've finished my white bra and taken a picture of that and the orange I was working on two weeks ago. As I've spent long (evening too) hours in front of the computer screen last days, I didn't feel like taking a picture of them on, and spend time photoshopping myself out of it.

For larger pictures, just click on the small ones.
The last picture gives a detail of the inside of the shoulderstrap. For extra support the shoulderstrap goes down to the side.

Enough lin gerie for the moment, other projects are taking their place. Tonight I gave myself time off, and cut the skirt of the April issue I showed you in this post.

This weekend a fabric market is being held in The Hague, and I'll go there and hope to find fabric to make my "green" jacket.

  2. That suit on the left side of the magazine spread - I love it! And I would definitely find a reason to wear it, too.
I might have to brave the streets of Germany and find the magazine.

  4. Exquisite work on your lin gerie as always. I love that suit too and I think you should just have fun and make it anyway and find somewhere to wear it! Since it's separates you might find you get more use out of the pieces than you think.

  7. Sigrid - why not try making the suit out of denim or another sporty fabric. It would give you the look you desire but in a more casual feel.

And I am just not saying anything else about your lingerie...I am trying to keep the green-eyed jealousy monster under control!!!!

  8. Stunning lingerie! I'd make the trip to NL specially to get a hands on tutorial ;o)

Now regarding the suit, I'm sure you could find a way to add it to your wardrobe... I agree with Carolyn, sometimes it's just a matter of fabric.

  9. I love that suit too. Very Jackie O in the 60s. But same here, it just wouldn't fit my very casual lifestyle.

  10. Wow - I love it all, the suit, the dress, the lin gerie! I'd have to think about where to wear that suit - church, I suppose, since I won't be teaching in 2 months. The jacket in the right fabric could definitely work well with other wardrobe bottoms besides the skirt.

  11. I like the contrast fabric bands, also featured on some of the April BWOF modeles (there's a b&W dress and also a jacket that follow this style). I plan on maling at lest the dress for spring.

  12. The dress speaks to me and what do ya know, I just ordered this issue. I am always drawn to the suits too, but I never wear them except for special occasions, so they always tend to be dressy. They don't fit my casual lifestyle. I make the same kind of pieces that you do.
Now, your lingerie! I have said it before, it is just magnificent. You mentioned a custom bra pattern. How did you come by this?
